About my Ayurveda stay in India, it was the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced.

All of it t began when a friend of mine gave me a tip.
After brief deliberation I took the chance and registered.

Everything was organized perfectly and I did not have to worry about a thing. My parents brought me to the airport and from then on I was on my own. It’s impressive how much help one would get. Everything was made easy on me. The flight itself was exhausting but I got well to Cochin, a southern part of India. I got picked up at the airport and we’d continue for about three hours to Changanacherry. There, I was awaited already and brought to my room. As tired as I was I first took a sleep before I would take a look around in a wheel chair. It was moderate, yet sufficiently decorated. I could see everything from my balcony/terrace. It was a u-shaped little world with about 10 rooms of which each had its own entrance and two chairs. There were mostly Indians with their company. There also were 2 Germans and 1 person from England.

Later on the doctor came for a visit and I had to give him the histology on my disease. Thank god there was an interpreter who would me with translation.

It started with an oil massage lasting for more than an hour where a bottle of oil gets poured over the body while two lovely Indian girls give you a synchronized massage. Afterwards you have to rest for one hour.

The next day doctors (usually 4) came after breakfast and the head physician would further talk to me in English. Then there was the next massage with oil for another hour with a bath in oil afterwards. Then a bottle of warm oil gets poured over the body and once more two Indian females give you a synchronized massage. Because the whole thing is rather exhausting you have to rest and get lunch brought to your room. It is a deliciously prepared vegetarian cuisine. You don’t miss a thing.

The doctor came twice a day to ask me how I was doing. The girls who massage you, wash you every 3 to 5 days where, afterwards, you feel like a new human being (the oil takes some time before it comes to effect). They come and wake you in the morning at 6:30am to take your blood pressure , temperature and give you your medication. On the 7th day your intestine gets cleaned and you have to drink a lot.

For the next seven days I would get a massage with oil in the afternoon and a shower with oil on my forehead (you’d lay on a massage table and warm oil gets poured slowly from a jar over the forehead). Another hour of rest afterwards. In between applications I would get a Physical Therapy.
This way the next days would go by very quickly. Another 7 days went by and the intestine would get cleared one more time to be continued with a regular massage with oil and Physical Therapy twice for one hour.

They were even bathing my eyes. At first it did burn a little bit but then was ok.

When I let pass those 8 weeks in front of my eyes, I am in India with my thoughts. I will never forget this stay.

P.S. personal success came about for me where I can take walks on my own again with my walking aid. Everything is supported by my Ayurveda doctor in Stuttgart.
